Fort Sumter Cruise / Charleston City Market / Carriage Tour

Our group will start the day with a scenic Fort Sumter cruise, stepping aboard a boat to reach the island where the Civil War began in 1861 - one of Charleston's most pivotal sites. Then it's off to the bustling Charleston City Market, a vibrant hub since 1804 where you'll browse handmade sweetgrass baskets, local art, and Southern souvenirs under the iconic pavilion roofs. You may recognize this scenic backdrop from iconic films such as The Notebook and The Patriot. Then it's off to Shem Creek Crab House, a waterfront Lowcountry favorite for fresh she-crab soup (a cream-based soup with crabmeat and sherry), fried shrimp, and crab cakes overlooking the marsh. In the afternoon, dive into Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum where we'll jump aboard the USS Yorktown to explore the historic WWII aircraft carrier, peek into submarine life, and walk through Charleston's pivotal role in American naval history. B, L

Then enjoy time perusing the gift shop or sipping local tea before our immersive group lunch on their famous front porch. This afternoon in Savannah will be a real treat - literally! Our small-group will take a hands-on class from a local chef to make pralines and bourbon balls which are two classic treats with deep roots in Southern tradition.
