Welcome to Ottawa!

After your flight to the beautiful capital city of Canada, take an uber or taxi at your leisure for a 15-minute ride to The Lord Elgin Hotel. This property is a historic landmark that opened in 1941 to address wartime lodging shortages and has hosted notable figures like Winston Churchill and the Dalai Lama. Day 2

Rideau Hall / Cooking Class / Cold War Bunker

After breakfast, get the lay of the land in Ottawa before it's off to a guided tour of Rideau Hall. This National Historic Site serves as the official residence of the Governor General of Canada who represents the monarch. Then enjoy a special farm-to-table cooking class where we'll learn to make a hearty Canadian dish for lunch from a local chef. After, our group will experience Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum. This is the largest known bunker in Canada and was commissioned to shelter key officials like the Prime Minister, Governor General, and Cabinet for 30 days after a nuclear attack. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own at the hotel or at one of the festive restaurants on Elgin Street. B, L

In the afternoon, explore the large craft beer scene in Ottawa with a tour and tasting. But tonight is the real star of the day... a trip to the Ottawa Christmas Market which will make you feel like you're in Europe with it's festive village, wooden chalets, twinkling lights, unique gifts, mulled wine, and giant Christmas trees. B, L
